I ordered this in march after my 4th gen. Ipod hard drive died. It worked fine and everything when I got it, I even had a three month warranty on it. But two months following the warranty expiring in June, it started clicking and making the same noise the hard drive it was bought to replace had been doing. I don't know if it was a glitch, a bad drive or what but I will not be wasting another $40.47 on another hard drive or anything for that matter on it.

I received an email from santechusa today 8/15/2012 in reply to my comment and I quote:

"Based on your purchase date, your warranty on this drive has past.
Just for your information, hard drive may be defective, but if you have a weak power supply or battery, you may get the clicking noise that you've mentioned.
You may want to consider the following item that is about $20.00 from the following link:"

I already wasted $40 dollars on a hard drive from them, I knew my warranty was past but most places have a lemon policy. As for my battery it was fully charged to begin with and their comment as you can see is more or less we are sorry that we sold you a defective hard drive but since its after the warranty sorry about your luck. Here is another we can sell you... " I bet they also have a bridge in Brooklyn they probably like to sell me as well...
