Even with an i7 2600K Sandy Bridge this board is slower than my previous Asus P5K3 DeLuxe with core duo extreme. I thought it would be because Vista 64 ultimate was a crappy OS for the i7 but even after installing Linux the machine is still a lot slower than my previous one. I'm not sure why this is. I tried overclocking this board using the included intel software that does everything automatically but even overclocked, this is slow as goo. 16GB of RAM and nVidia 8800GTX still won't help me getting software like Outlook to load fast. I will be upgrading the OS to windows 7 soon (windows 8 is still a no-no) and I'll see what happens. So far, I'm frustrated with this board, because even though it has been stable, it's too slow for all the hype in reviews and marketing material. Unless I'm doing something completely wrong in the overclocking department, I don't understand how this board with all the other goodies on it can be slower than my older one with less than half the RAM (4GB) and a core duo. Sometimes I hate technology.
