Chauvet Scorpion RVM DJ Lighting Effect Review

I bought two of these along with three Chauvet RGY Scorpions. The RGYs were fine and I liked the effects that all of them produce. I think Chauvet has some great ideas and the design aspect of their products in general is very forward thinking. When I started to program the Scorpions, I noticed that the blue lasers in the RVMs were much more faint and barely visible when trying to run at the same time as the RGYs. I also noticed that one of the RVMs was not aiming where it was supposed to aim so my programs were looking askew. That RVM also rattled and none of the other ones made that sound. I contacted Chauvet and Carlos was very friendly and sent me another RVM to replace the one that was askew. I plugged that one in and the blue laser was just as bright as all the other lasers. So that led me to conclude that the two original ones I owned were not operating properly. The replacement also had a glitch in that something is installed backward as the image is upside down. I photographed the difference in light intensity and the upside down image of the refurbished one he sent to replace my new one. I sent an email back to Carlos with the photos attached on June 13, 2013. I also made repeated calls to him asking to repair or replace the units I have. On June 28th he told me that they were trying to figure out what to do about the problems and will contact me as soon as they have a solution. He never called me so in mid-July I spoke with another person, Gilbert. Gilbert issued me an RMA and I had to mail all three units back to Chauvet. This cost me $96.66. Gilbert got them repaired and sent them back to me. I received them on August 20. They seem to be repaired although the one still has a rattle inside of it. The blue lasers are nice and bright and they are aimed properly. They even gave me an extra RVM for my time and expense. Thank you Gilbert for getting things squared away.
