I bought this so that I did not have to sign up for a new contract for my new iPad. I bought the iPad with just WiFi and not the 3G. I then hooked this up to my USB AirCard from AT&T and it works awsome! Now when I am in the airport without wifi, I just turn on the box and both my computer and iPad pick it up. Well worth it if you are contimplating signing another contract (minimum 2 years) on another device with internal wifi card.
