nMedia Black HTPC 2000B Desktop Media Center HTPC Case Review

I bought this case for the my HTPC after a lot of research. I had an older AMD 4400+ processor on an Asus sckt 939 motherboard and didn't feel I needed to go far above that to get a movie play-back product.

The chassis is relatively decent, the fans are quiet enough and there is enough room for a full height video card. I can easily fit my 8800 GTS 512MB in it and my 750W PC Power and Cooling PSU also fits, although the cabling causes a tighter fit than I would otherwise like.

The interior definitely has some sharp edges but since you can take most of the case apart, it is not a big concern. The front LCD does NOT come with the case. Please make sure you do your research on this item. I purchased it separately.

The front is relatively clean and the drive is hidden, as well as the ports. Note however, if you have an optical drive that has a front bezel that sticks out, the upper panel will NOT close flush. You need to ensure you use a device which has flat fron with no extruding bezel parts.

All in all, a decent case, slightly larger than my receiver and doing exactly what I needed to at a very attractive price. Not perfect by any means but more than adequate for most people.
