I am a graphic designer and so good monitors are probably one of my most important pieces of equipment. We purchased a few of these at my office direct from Monoprice after hearing that the LED IPS display panel used in this monitor is the exact same one used in the ~$2000 Apple Studio Display 27.

After using it for about week now I can say I am blown away by the display quality. This screen is extremely sharp and crisp - it is about 110 PPI (pixels-per-inch) versus the standard 72 PPI or 96 PPI. The LED backlighting needs no warm up, and the IPS technology means the colors and brightness stay true from ANY viewing angle. I only buy IPS panels for design work, but this one really impresses me. This is a stunning price for what you get.

I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 for two reasons:
- There is no OSD (on screen display) to adjust the display, only a brightness control (no contrast even). For me this was not a problem because I have a color calibration tool, but if you do not have one you will need some kind of software control to get the best results (although the monitor was pretty good out of the box).
- The stand is pretty weak. This in not super heavy monitor, but the clear plastic base is a bit wobbly and looks like it would be easy to break. When trying to adjust the tilt angle it bends quite a bit. The panel does have a VESA mount, so you could purchase your own stand or desk mount.
